London Quality Care Services recruitment and selection procedure aims to ensure that the most suitable candidate is chosen for the job, and that all applicants receive fair and equitable treatment both during the recruitment and selection processes. These processes will adhere to relevant employment law practice, guidance issued by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Department of Health (DoH).

Recruitment

Staff and volunteers are central to our ability to provide consistently safe, effective, and dignified care to the highest standards. To achieve this we use the values-based recruitment and retention toolkit (Skills4Care) to select candidates who not only possess the right skills and experience but also share our values of delivering the highest standards care and support.

We screen for candidates who demonstrate a natural tendency toward being caring but equally identifying those who uphold our values and meet our expectations for delivering the highest standards of care on a consistent basis.

We test for these characteristics, exploring the candidates’ attitudes, behaviours and values which indicate their ability to deliver person-centres, compassionate and dignified care. We select candidates who are not only motivated to work with service users but are also ambitious to become an expert in this field. We know recruiting these people means they are already aligned with our values, loyal and remain with us as they are supported to develop.

This approach complements our Safer Recruitment Policy and procedures, developed to protect every service user’s safety through implementing a rigorous and stringent recruitment process. This involves validating candidate’s backgrounds through thorough checks.
